Today, many brewers call their craft lagers simply “a lager.” Other use more traditional names, including helles, pale lager, amber lager, Märzen, Munich dunkel, schwarzbier and Vienna lage. Many have taken that leap, and not just for pilsners. With so many modern breweries and dedicated equipment manufacturers today, that barrier no longer exists for anyone wanting to make the leap to lagers.
